St. Pierre et Miquelon
The Treaty of Utrecht in 1713 turned St. Pierre et Miquelon over to England. The Treaty of Paris in 1763 gave it back to France. For those 50 years in between it was the major trading center for the south coast of Newfoundland and England made sure they had settlers there. The south coast of Newfoundland itself was mainly unpopulated. St. Pierre was closer to the fishing banks. Leading up to 1763 and at the turnover in Governor Graves report there were English Protestants who of course lost their rights and property since they were loyal to England.
Graves was governor of Nfld at the time. He hastened to St. Pierre to oversee the turnover. Capt. Charles Douglas surveyed the property. Capt. James Cook also arrived to do a nautical survey of the islands. Meanwhile, the new French governor arrived with his 50 soldiers and some settlers, about 100 people in all. Graves made them all stay on board ship in the harbour for a month while Douglas and Cook completed their surveys. The turnover took place on July 4, 1763. At least some of the settlers that were property owners were listed by Graves as Morgan Snook Sr. and Jr. John and William Anderson father and son and William Buffitt. In the 50 or so years these people must have married, died and had children. These people resettled to Grand Bank, Burin and Burgeo.

Luke, Morgan, Edward & Samuel and they are all listed as Fisherman.
It would be safe to assume that Luke is the Luke Anderson below as he would have been 56 years of age and still alive.
Morgan, Luke's son would have been 33 years of age.
Edward listed below would have been 38 years of age so that should be him.
Samuel born 1867 would have been 27 year of age.
Lists four Anderson's living in Shoal Brook; they are:

Devon (Devonshire) England
So as with any family tree there will be lots of speculation. I am hoping as people see this they will contact me with any more information they may have. Listed below is what I am hoping is my family tree on the Anderson side. I will be adding more siblings as time goes by.
Here is a detailed speculation on what I have done with the tree. I have been studing the dates of births and some people just seemed to old to have had children. For example I had William Anderson (Born in Fortune?) (born between 1800 and 1806-1880) as the son of William Anderson (Born in Scotland). He moved to Fortuen in 1763 so that probley put him is his 40's or 50's. Then in Margaret Mullins "Fortune Families & Connections circa 1763-1900 I found John Anderson born about 1763 died 11 Jun 1854 at the age of 90 and George Anderson born about 1770 died 8 Jan 1854 at the age of 84. Also William Anderson born about 1772 died 6 Jun 1856 at the age of 84. All information I have on this William states he was born in Burgeo but no were can I find that out. He died there and the son of another William Anderson. So if William was born 1772 and Andersons were in Burgeo prior to 1796, William could have moved there in his late teens or early 20's so I am spectulating he was born in Fortune and moved to Burgeo.
William(this could be the William born in Scotland), John(could be the John born about 1763) and James(Could be the James born about 1815) Anderson of Fortune signed a petition in 1842. Since they signed with an “X”, they were probably old. (Noting that William born about 1772 and George bron about 1770 did not sign the petition in 1842 and I am speculation that William moved to Burgeo could it be that his brother George born about 1770 went with him?) There is also speculation that there was only one family that settles Burgeo.
One thing is for sure back in the 1700 and 1800's people loved naming there children after themselves. It gets quite confusing. As it would seem we have William Anderson born in 1772 married a Susannah Poole and his son William also married a Susannah Poole.

William Anderson settled in fortune in 1763. It was seem he moved to Burgeo after son William(1772) was born. John stayed in Fortune so he had to be of age to stay on his own. Robert I do not have a birth date by was born between William and Edward. This gives the timing for John to stay in Fortune and for William to take himself and his four youngest children to Burgeo with him.

Here is a detailed speculation on what I have done with the tree. I have been studing the dates of births and some people just seemed to old to have had children. For example I had William Anderson (Born in Fortune?) (born between 1800 and 1806-1880) as the son of William Anderson (Born in Scotland). He moved to Fortuen in 1763 so that probley put him is his 40's or 50's. Then in Margaret Mullins "Fortune Families & Connections circa 1763-1900 I found John Anderson born about 1763 died 11 Jun 1854 at the age of 90 and George Anderson born about 1770 died 8 Jan 1854 at the age of 84. Also William Anderson born about 1772 died 6 Jun 1856 at the age of 84. All information I have on this William states he was born in Burgeo but no were can I find that out. He died there and the son of another William Anderson. So if William was born 1772 and Andersons were in Burgeo prior to 1796, William could have moved there in his late teens or early 20's so I am spectulating he was born in Fortune and moved to Burgeo.
William(this could be the William born in Scotland), John(could be the John born about 1763) and James(Could be the James born about 1815) Anderson of Fortune signed a petition in 1842. Since they signed with an “X”, they were probably old. (Noting that William born about 1772 and George bron about 1770 did not sign the petition in 1842 and I am speculation that William moved to Burgeo could it be that his brother George born about 1770 went with him?) There is also speculation that there was only one family that settles Burgeo.
One thing is for sure back in the 1700 and 1800's people loved naming there children after themselves. It gets quite confusing. As it would seem we have William Anderson born in 1772 married a Susannah Poole and his son William also married a Susannah Poole.
