It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvia Myrtle Simmonds announce her passing on Tuesday, October 8th, 2002 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 88th year. She will be sadly missed by her three sons: Donald (Ellen) of Brampton, Ontario, Dale (Faye) of Goderich, Ontario and Rendell (Rita) of Brampton, Ontario; two daughters Bella (Mrs. Tony Langdon) of Cormack and Flora (Mrs. Clyde Thornhill) of Furgus, Ontario. Twelve grandchildren: Cindy, Donald Jr., Lorna, Carolyn, Colleen, Donald Jr., Steven, Tracy, Trina, Krista, Kirk and Jason; seven great-grandchildren: Austin, Perry, Rory, Samantha, Dean, Hudson and Hannah. One brother George (Marion) Anderson of Corner Brook, her brother-in-law Art (Beulah) Simmonds of Glenburnie; three sisters-in-law Ella Moores of Woody Point, Alice Simmonds of The Deer Lake Manor and Freda Anderson of Corner Brook, also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Henry in 1995, daughter Shirley Goode in 1991, two brothers: Sid and Kirk and sister-in-law Lucy. Visitation will take place from the Anglican Church in Birchy Head, Bonne Bay today, Thursday and Friday where also Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the family plot. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake.
